For Cedar, it was no more than a mere love of climbing that drew him to the sport, as he spent much of his mid-20s testing his limits as a young climber in Yosemite. It was through a unique set of circumstances that he came into contact with The North Face, owing to the close friendships he’d formed with other high-level climbers while living inland from the Bay Area, where the brand was originally founded. With the emergence of new generations, climbing has sadly veered off from its organic identity, rooted in pure outdoor and artistic expression, and has dawned into a more manicured, competitive environment. Yet, even as the sport evolves around him, Cedar remains fueled by the raw pursuit of the unexplored.
